“Leadership is using the greatness in you to achieve exceptional and sustainable results by engaging the greatness in others.”
Susan Colantuono
Hi, I’m belinda murphy.
Leadership is about bringing out the best in people to achieve meaningful and sustainable results.
Conversation is how that happens.
At the heart of my work is a belief that leadership growth happens through dialogue.
Over more than two decades working in people and culture roles, I’ve seen how the quality of conversations within an organisation directly shapes performance, trust and culture.
Conversations influence how expectations are set, how issues are addressed, and how people experience leadership day to day. When leaders are equipped to communicate clearly and thoughtfully, progress follows. When conversations are avoided or mishandled, even good intentions can fall short.
Over 20 years working in senior people and culture roles across the UK and Australia - including in complex and operational environments - has deeply informed how I approach this work.
In these settings, leadership decisions carry real weight. Conversations have consequences. There is little room for theory that doesn’t translate into practice.
This experience reinforced my belief that effective leadership isn’t about having the right answers - it’s about having the right conversations, at the right time, in the right way.
I work alongside leaders to build confidence and capability in everyday leadership conversations - particularly those involving performance, accountability, change and progression.
My role is to provide structure, perspective and focused leadership support t so leaders can move from awareness to action in a way that feels practical, respectful and effective within their organisational context.
The work is practical, engaging and grounded in real leadership challenges.
Alongside this experience, I am an ICF-trained coach, and accredited in DiSC and PRINT, working to internationally recognised coaching standards.
This ensures my work is ethical, structured and grounded in professional practice - providing organisations and leaders with confidence that the support they receive is credible, considered and robust.
Based in Perth, Western Australia, I partner with organisations and leaders who value thoughtful leadership development and understand the importance of conversation in shaping culture and performance.
values
Over time, a clear set of principles has emerged that guides how I work with leaders and organisations.
These are shaped by experience, reflection, and what I’ve seen make the greatest difference in real workplaces.
-
Much of my work focuses on helping leaders apply what they already know within the reality of their role, rather than adding more theory that is difficult to sustain.
-
How leaders communicate - particularly in moments of challenge, uncertainty or change - shapes trust, performance and culture. Supporting leaders to have clearer, more effective conversations is central to everything I do.
-
My role is not to tell leaders how to lead, but to provide space, perspective and skilled support that enables thoughtful reflection and confident action.
-
This provides clarity, consistency and confidence in how the work is approached.
-
Rather than quick fixes, I focus on supporting sustainable leadership capability through continued conversation, reflection and application.
